Regular Season Round 18: Challans - Rueil 85-88

There was an upset when higher ranked Vendee Challans (11-7) was edged at home by ninth ranked Rueil (9-9) 88-85 on Friday. Rueil had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Steven Ricard (200-1990) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Jean-Frederic Morency (200-1989) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bahamas forward Radshad Davis (195-1996, college: FIU) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Paul Turpin (192-1993) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Rueil and four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Rueil moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Besancon and Poitiers. Vendee Challans at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Lorient. Rueil will meet at home higher ranked Toulouse (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vendee Challans will play against Berck and hope to secure a win.
