Very predictable result in Moscow where third ranked MBA (15-2) defeated 10th ranked Rostov (3-14) 74-57 on Sunday. MBA forced 24 Rostov turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Zhosselina Maiga (192-1996) who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Mariya Krymova (170-2001) chipped in 14 points. MBA's coach Aleksandr Diracujan used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Veronika Pavliuchenko (184-2001, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and center Ekaterina Osipova (187-1997) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Rostov players scored in double figures. MBA moved-up to second place, which they share with Dynamo K. Rostov lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. MBA will meet Samara (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rostov will play against Neftyanik in Omsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
