Regular Season Round 16: Ostrava - Vysocina 116-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Ostrava's (3-12) home victory over 10th ranked Vysocina (1-14) 116-59 on Sunday. Ostrava made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Vysocina turnovers. Strangely Vysocina outrebounded Ostrava 37-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of center Jiri Stepanek (203-1998) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and guard Radek Janisch (185-2002) who added 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five Ostrava players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Frantisek Seda (207-2003) responded with 6 points and 14 rebounds and center Pavel Ciha (201-1992) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ostrava moved-up to eighth place, which they share with SP Basket. Vysocina lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Ostrava will meet higher ranked Brno 2 (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vysocina will play against Opava 2010 (#5) and hope to win that game.
