Regular Season Round 13: Manises-Quart - Jovens 80-61

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Jovens (2-11) was outleveled on the road by twelfth ranked Manises-Quart (4-9) 80-61 on Sunday. Manises-Quart dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Jovens' 26 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jovens 44-27 including 33 on the defensive glass. Power forward Yexian Rubio (197-1986) nailed a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) for the winning side and guard Luis Torrijo (184-1993) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Bernat Mondragon (178-1996) came up with 17 points and Jorge Jodar (-1993) added 10 points respectively for Jovens in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Manises-Quart moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Begastri. Jovens at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Manises-Quart will meet higher ranked Aldaia (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jovens will play against Esportiu (#5) in Vila-real and hope to secure a win.
