Regular Season Round 15: Ulm BBU 01 - Giessen Ak. 120-60

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Ulm BBU 01 (9-6) outplayed at home 13th ranked Giessen Ak. (3-12) 120-60 on Sunday. Ulm BBU 01 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen Ak.'s 34. They outrebounded Giessen Ak. 54-29 including a 42-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ulm BBU 01 looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Giessen Ak.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for Latrell Grosskopf (200-2001) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Maximilian Langenfeld (195-2003) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Ulm BBU 01 players scored in double figures. Ulm BBU 01's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Terry Winn III (201-1995, college: UTRGV) came up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and point guard Jon Ukaj (186-2005) added 16 points respectively for Giessen Ak. in the defeat. Ulm BBU 01 moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Giessen Ak. keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Aachen. Ulm BBU 01 will meet Tuebingen 2 (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen Ak. will play against Fellbach (#3) and hope to secure a win.
