GBL top team - Olympiacos (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked AEK (6-5) in Piraeus 111-71. Olympiacos shot 65.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 65.6 percentage. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a quality performance for American guard Isaiah Canaan (183-1991, college: Murray St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points. The former international Giannoulis Larentzakis (196-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Five Olympiacos players scored in double figures. Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Tim Frazier (185-1990, college: Penn St.) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for AEK in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. AEK lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Aris and Kolossos HH. Olympiacos will meet at home Apollon P. (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
