Regular Season Round 14: Cagdas BS - Mersin 72-65

An interesting game for Cagdas BS (13-1) which hosted in Mugla second-ranked Mersin (12-2). First ranked Cagdas BS managed to get a 7-point victory 72-65. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Mersin. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hakan Yapar (202-1984) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even 26 points and 4 steals by American guard Tobin Carberry (193-1991, college: LIU Post) did not help to save the game for Mersin. His fellow American import power forward Aaron Jones (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cagdas BS have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Cagdas BS maintains first position with 13-1 record. Loser Mersin keeps the second place with two games lost. Cagdas BS will meet Final Spor (#4) in the next round. Mersin will play against Gemlik and hope to secure a win.
