Regular Season Round 14: M.Rehovot - E.Ashkelon 74-88

Very predictable result when second ranked E.Ashkelon (11-3) won against on the road 10th ranked M.Rehovot (6-8) 88-74 on Tuesday. E.Ashkelon looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Thomas Gipson (202-1993, college: Kansas St.) notched 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Shlomi Harush (185-1987) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Even 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists by American swingman Brent Jackson (193-1994, college: Columbus St.) did not help to save the game for M.Rehovot. Naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-1997, college: Roanoke) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. E.Ashkelon keeps a position of league leader. Newly promoted M.Rehovot keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ramat Hash.. E.Ashkelon will meet at home M.Raanana (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. M.Rehovot will play against E.Netanya (#5) and hope to secure a win.
