Regular Season Round 17: Tuebingen - Muenster 84-79

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tigers (13-4) beat 14th ranked Muenster (7-10) in Tuebingen 84-79 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tigers made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and American Zac Seljaas (203-1997, college: BYU) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Icelandic guard Hilmar Petursson (190-2000, agency: Blacktop Management) came up with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Darien Jackson (192-1998, college: Tulsa) added 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for Muenster in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tigers maintains second place with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Vechta. Newly promoted Muenster dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Jena and Bremerhaven. Tigers will meet Uni Baskets (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Muenster will play against Gladiators (#9) in Trier and hope to secure a win.
