There was no surprise in Istanbul where 7th ranked Tesvikiye (5-8) was outplayed by leader Anadolu Efes (13-0) 91-70 on Friday. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Tesvikiye's 24. They outrebounded Tesvikiye 47-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Mehmet Demirel (214-2005) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Baha Korkmaz (-2004) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Orkun Cavusoglu (-2004) produced 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Arda Uzuner (-2005) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Five Anadolu Efes and four Tesvikiye players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record, which they share with Gaziantep. Loser Tesvikiye dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Anadolu Efes will meet at home Petkim Spor (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tesvikiye will play against Darussafaka in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
