We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Okapi Aalst (5-9) was edged at home by ninth ranked Liege Basket (4-8) 86-84 on Friday. Puerto Rican point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) notched 18 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Niels Van Den Eynde (179-2000) supported him with 21 points and 4 assists. Liege Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) did not help to save the game for Okapi Aalst. American point guard Jordan Walker (186-1997, college: Morehead St.) added 15 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Liege Basket maintains ninth position with 4-8 record. Okapi Aalst lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Liege Basket will meet at home higher ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Okapi Aalst will play against Kangoeroes in Mechelen and hope to secure a win.
