Regular Season Round 15: Sibiu - Craiova 95-73

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Craiova (7-6) was smashed on the road by seventh ranked Sibiu (7-7) 95-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Sibiu. Craiova managed to win third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Monyea Pratt (196-1985, college: Stillman) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Latvian Roberts Blumbergs (208-1998, college: GCU) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Sibiu's coach Tomas Rinkevicius felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Dimitrije Nikolic (212-1997) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Giordan Watson (179-1985, college: CMU) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Craiova in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sibiu maintains seventh place with 7-7 record. Craiova at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Pitesti and Voluntari. Sibiu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Craiova will play against Ploiesti CSM (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
