Regular Season Round 12: Herlev - Amager 78-58

An interesting game for Herlev (7-4) which hosted in Herlev 4th ranked Amager (3-9). Second ranked Herlev had an easy win 78-58. Herlev dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 26. Herlev forced 23 Amager turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Amager's players. Herlev brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Bianca Braikia (179-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Israeli swingman Mariam Hannoun (178-1994, college: Eckerd) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Herlev players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Julie Jungslund (169-1998) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Ena Viso (177-1993, college: S.Dakota St.) scored 5 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Herlev maintains second position with 7-4 record having just one point less than leader Falcon. Amager lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with nine games lost. Herlev will play against SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Amager will play on the road against the league's leader Falcon in Copenhagen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
