Regular Season Round 16: Neptunas - Lietkabelis 81-73

Another interesting game for Neptunas (7-8) which hosted in Klaipeda against higher ranked Lietkabelis (10-6). Eighth ranked Neptunas won 81-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 41-26 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lietkabelis was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Matas Jogela (201-1998) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Rokas Gustys (206-1994, college: Hofstra) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) responded with 17 points and forward Gabas Maldunas (205-1993, college: Dartmouth) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas maintains eighth position with 7-8 record. Lietkabelis at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Neptunas will play against league's second-placed Rytas in Vilnius in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lietkabelis will play at home against Prienai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
