There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Zamora (7-9) won against at home higher ranked Zornotza (9-7) 90-84 on Saturday. Zamora made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by guard Toni Naspler (196-2003) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 assists and Ugandan-Canadian swingman Robinson Opong (190-1989, college: Rogers St.) supported him with 26 points. Four Zamora players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 4 assists by American-Cameroonian guard Charles Minlend Jr (193-1997, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Zornotza. Guard Alberto Cabrera (187-1998) added 21 points and 4 assists for lost side. Zornotza's coach Mikel Garita Onandia tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zamora moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Huesca. Loser Zornotza dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Zamora will meet higher ranked Ponferrada (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
