Regular Season Round 19: Berck - Challans 93-86

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Berck (5-14) won against at home 4th placed Vendee Challans (11-8) 93-86 on Saturday. Berck made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Luidgy Laporal (206-1995, college: SFU) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Kayode Ajenifuja (195-1993, college: Mercyhurst) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Berck's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Paul Turpin (192-1993) came up with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Bahamas forward Radshad Davis (195-1996, college: FIU) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Vendee Challans in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Berck moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Boulogne. Loser Vendee Challans keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Berck will meet higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play against CFBB (#14) and hope to secure a win.
