Regular Season Round 16: Hamm - Hagen BG 85-89

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Hagen BG (8-8) won against on the road 6th ranked Hamm (8-8) 89-85 on Saturday. The winners were led by naturalized American point guard Anthony Watkins (194-2000) who scored that evening 30 points and 7 assists and American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-1984) supported him with 22 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Hagen BG players scored in double figures. Hagen BG's coach Tome Zdravevski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 32 points by naturalized Bosnian forward Mateo Zovko (193-1998, college: Laramie CC) did not help to save the game for Hamm. American guard Tyler Brevard (189-1998, college: Lander) added 16 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Hagen BG moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Hamm. Hagen BG will meet at home Hertener Loewen (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Hamm will play against the league's leader ETB Miners (#1) in Essen and hope to secure a win.
