Very expected game when 12th ranked Bayern (3-11) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Coburg (9-5) 79-58 on Saturday. Coburg forced 22 Bayern turnovers. Strangely Bayern outrebounded Coburg 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian-Austrian center Leon Bulic (211-2001) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Jannis Sonnefeld (207-2002) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Coburg players scored in double figures. Sierra Leonean center Mohamed Sillah (204-2002) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Luis Wulff (199-2004, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points respectively for Bayern in the defeat. Bayern's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Coburg moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bayern lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg. Coburg will meet at home Loewen (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayern will have a break next round.
