LEB Silver top team - Menorca (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Alginet (5-11) 82-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alginet. Menorca made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Alginet 53-24 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by French Edwin Jackson (190-1989, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 24 points and Austrian-Croatian center Josip Popic (209-1998, agency: BIG) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Hunter Preston (201, college: Columbus St.) did not help to save the game for Alginet. Point guard Miguel Martinez (183-1995) added 8 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Menorca maintains first position with 13-3 record. Loser Alginet dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with L'Hospitalet and Salou. Menorca will meet at home Cartagena (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alginet will play against Sant Antoni in San Antonio and hope to secure a win.
