There was no surprise when 7th ranked Gladiators (9-8) lost to fifth ranked 46ers (11-6) in Giessen 97-109 on Sunday. 46ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Jordan Barnes (178-1997, college: Indiana St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and Serbian forward Stefan Fundic (200-1994, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 22 points and 15 rebounds. American Parker Van Dyke (191-1994, college: Utah) came up with 26 points and point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) added 18 points and 8 assists respectively for Gladiators in the defeat. Five 46ers and four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. 46ers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Hagen and Dresden. Loser Gladiators keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. 46ers will meet Schwenningen (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gladiators will play against Muenster (#12) and hope to secure a win.
