The game without a history. Phoenix Corona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Sibiu 2's 42. They outrebounded Sibiu 2 49-29 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Phoenix Corona players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sibiu 2's players. The winners were led by guard Sebastian Costeiu (186-1999) who scored that evening 16 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-1984, college: Marquette) supported him with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Five Phoenix Corona players scored in double figures. Phoenix Corona's coach Ionut Bascoveanu felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 4 assists by forward Victor Georgescu (186-2002) did not help to save the game for Sibiu 2. Eduard Apostol (-2004) added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Phoenix Corona have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Phoenix Corona maintains first position with 10-0 record. Sibiu 2 at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Phoenix Corona will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sibiu 2 will play at home against the league's second-placed Rm Valcea II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
