Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Hamburg Towers (6-9) lost on the road to sixth ranked BG Goettingen (9-5) 91-82 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for BG Goettingen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Rayshaun Hammonds (206-1998, college: Georgia) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Geno Crandall (191-1996, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Five BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. BG Goettingen's coach Roel Moors used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Kendale McCullum (184-1996, college: Lewis) came up with 25 points and 7 assists and the former international Lukas Meisner (203-1995, college: Columbia, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Hamburg Towers in the defeat. BG Goettingen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ludwigsburg. Loser Hamburg Towers dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ulm. BG Goettingen will meet at home MLP Academics Heidelberg (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hamburg Towers will play against Braunschweig and hope to secure a win.
