Regular Season Round 12: Tornado KM - Zalgiris 75-69

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: Tornado KM (#7) and Zalgiris (#5). Tornado KM (7-5) won against visiting Zalgiris (6-5) 75-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zalgiris. Zalgiris trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 28-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 69-75 at the end of the game. It was a good game for power forward Emilis Baltrimavicius (203-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Kasparas Latkauskas (-2005) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Martynas Kancevicius (-2006) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Nedas Vydmantas (-2006) added 7 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Zalgiris. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tornado KM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Zalgiris at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. Tornado KM are looking forward to face league's leader VKKM in Vilniaus in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zalgiris will play at home against Panevezio (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
