The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked E.Ashkelon (11-4) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked M.Raanana (10-5) 85-69. M.Raanana looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Jason Siggers (194-1985, college: Albany, agency: Avi Zilberman) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American Willy Workman (198-1990, college: Amherst) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four M.Raanana players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Thomas Gipson (202-1993, college: Kansas St.) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Polish guard Gal Gilinski (195-1995, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. E.Ashkelon's coach Avi Sukar rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. M.Raanana have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. E.Ashkelon at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with M.Rishon and H.Afula. M.Raanana are looking forward to face E.Netanya (#5) at home in the next round. E.Ashkelon will play against M.Haifa (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
