Important game to mention about took place in Vichy. Sixth ranked Lille Metropole (10-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked JA Vichy (11-5) 107-104 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of JA Vichy. Lille Metropole made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by JA Vichy's players. The winners were led by Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-1985) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-1989, college: Windsor) supported him with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Even 49 points (!!!) by American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) did not help to save the game for JA Vichy. Ivorian Cedric Bah (198-1994) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five Lille Metropole and four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lille Metropole moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims. JA Vichy at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Boulazac. Lille Metropole will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#9) at home in the next round. JA Vichy will play against Aix-Maurienne (#18) in Aix-les-Bains and hopes to get back on the winning track.
