There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Limburg (6-11) defeated at home 8th ranked Licher Basket (8-9) 95-88 on Saturday. Limburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Austrian-Croatian point guard Matej Kljaic (189-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 assists for the winning side and Canadian point guard Sean Stoqua (180) accounted for 33 points (!!!). Four Limburg players scored in double figures. Power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Johannes Roith added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Licher Basket in the defeat. Limburg maintains eleventh place with 6-11 record, which they share with BG TVO / Jahn. Newly promoted Licher Basket dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Limburg will meet Kronberg (#14) on the road in the next round. Licher Basket will play against Soeflingen (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
