There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Vicenza (0-15) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Trieste (6-9) 65-51 on Saturday. It was a great evening for guard Giorgia Sammartini (175-2001) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Chiara Camporeale (185-2001) helped adding 8 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Elena Sasso (181-2000) with 15 points and swingman Giorgia Amatori (175-2003) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Vicenza's coach Marco Silvestrucci rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Trieste maintains ninth place with 6-9 record, which they share with Bolzano BC. Loser Vicenza still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Trieste will meet higher ranked Scrivia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vicenza will play against Bolzano AV (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
