Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Thessaloniki: Aris (#8) and PAOK (#6). Aris (7-6) won against visiting PAOK (7-6) 77-70. Aris dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to PAOK's 28. American guard JD Notae (188-1998, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and Ivorian-American power forward Ismael Sanogo (203-1996, college: Seton Hall, agency: SLN) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Jaylen Hands (191-1999, college: UCLA, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Dutch guard Yannick Franke (197-1996) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. PAOK's coach Aris Likogiannis tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aris moved-up to sixth place, which they share with PAOK and Promitheas. Aris will meet league's leader Olympiacos in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PAOK will play against Lavrio (#11) and hope to secure a win.
