Regular Season Round 16: Selfoss - Hamar 78-87

An interesting game for Hamar (13-3) which played road game in Selfoss against 4th ranked Selfoss (9-7). Second ranked Hamar managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. The guests were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 24-15 last quarter charge of Selfoss cut the lead to 87-78 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Selfoss 41-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Hamar players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (220-1991) who added 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Four Hamar players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (203-1984, college: UT Martin) responded with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Spanish forward Kennedy Clement (199-2002) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Hamar have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record behind leader Alftanes. Selfoss at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Hamar will play against Armann (#9) in Reykjavik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Selfoss will play at home against Skallagrimur (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
