Regular Season Round 16: U19 Chance - Zabiny Brno 46-89

Very predictable result in Strakonice where second ranked Zabiny Brno (14-3) outscored bottom-ranked U19 Chance (1-15) 89-46 on Friday. Zabiny Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to U19 Chance's 24 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Zabiny Brno forced 29 U19 Chance turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Elissa Cunane (196-2000, college: NC State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Michaela Vondrackova (176-1991) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Zabiny Brno players scored in double figures. Zabiny Brno's coach Viktor Prusa felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Katerina Ebenhohova (194-2003) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Timotea Najbrtova (180-2004) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Zabiny Brno have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-3 record having just one point less than leader USK Praha. U19 Chance lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Zabiny Brno will meet Slovanka MB (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. U19 Chance will play against SBS Ostrava and hope to win that game.
