There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Goetting.ASC (10-6) was outscored on the road by seventh ranked Bargteheide (9-7) 94-74 on Saturday. Bargteheide forced 20 Goetting.ASC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Abdulai Abaker (185-1996) notched 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the effort and American guard Jeremy Ingram (183-1991, college: AAMU) supported him with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bargteheide's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a triple-double of 20 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists by swingman Nick Boakye (196-1995) did not help to save the game for Goetting.ASC. Philipp Sprung (195-1994) added 19 points. Bargteheide moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Braunschweig. Loser Goetting.ASC dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Bargteheide will meet at home league's leader Stade in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Goetting.ASC will play against Berlin BG 2000 (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
