Regular Season Round 19: Duesseldorf - Nuernberg 79-94
Date: January 29, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Duesseldorf (5-14) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Falcons (11-8) 94-79 on Sunday. Falcons looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Thomas Wilder (190-1995, college: W.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 assists and 7 steals. Lithuanian Justinas Ramanauskas (193-2000) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side Canadian point guard Ryan Richmond (183-1996, college: Bentley) responded with 20 points and American guard Tray Hollowell (189-1998, college: Morehead St., agency: Players Group) scored 15 points. Five Falcons and four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Duesseldorf's coach Florian Flabb rotated twelve players saving starting five for next games. Falcons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hagen and Dresden. Newly promoted Duesseldorf keeps the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Leverkusen. Falcons will meet Uni Baskets (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Duesseldorf will play against Lions (#8) in Karlsruhe and hope to secure a win.
