The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked M.Rehovot's (7-10) road victory over 12th ranked E.Shomron (5-12) 87-83 on Tuesday. American players dominated the game. Forward AlLonzo Coleman (203-1989, college: Presbyterian) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and swingman Brent Jackson (193-1994, college: Columbus St.) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. M.Rehovot's coach Kobi Hasson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Dachon Burke (193-1997, college: USA) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Keith Stone (206-1997, college: Miami, FL) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for E.Shomron in the defeat. Four M.Rehovot and five E.Shomron players scored in double figures. Newly promoted M.Rehovot maintains eleventh place with 7-10 record. E.Shomron at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. M.Rehovot will meet at home higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. E.Shomron will play against M.Raanana (#5) and hope to secure a win.
