Regular Season Round 15: Aris - AEK 74-64

The game between third ranked AEK (9-6) and eighth ranked Aris (8-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. AEK was defeated by Aris in Thessaloniki 74-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AEK. It was a great evening for American forward Chevez Goodwin (206-1998, college: USC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import guard JD Notae (188-1998, college: Arkansas) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Aris players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Isaiah Miles (203-1994, college: St.Joseph's) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aris moved-up to seventh place, which they share with PAOK. AEK at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Peristeri and Promitheas. Aris is looking forward to face Apollon P. (#10) in Patras in the next round. AEK will play at home against Lavrio (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
