There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Uni Baskets (10-10) won against higher ranked Falcons (11-9) in Paderborn 81-77 on Saturday. Uni Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by Canadian guard Marcus Anderson (191-1997, college: Carleton) who scored that evening 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American point guard George Brock (183-1995, college: SUNO) supported him with 15 points. Brock is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Uni Baskets' coach Steven Esterkamp used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American forward Rocky Kreuser (206-1999, college: NDSU) did not help to save the game for Falcons. Sebastian Schroeder (195-1988) added 13 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Uni Baskets moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Falcons keep the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Dresden. Uni Baskets will meet league's leader Rasta Vechta on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Falcons will play against Titans (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
