There was a surprise result in Istanbul where fifteenth ranked Socar Petkim (7-11) defeated higher ranked Galatasaray (7-11) 82-74 on Saturday. American Omar Prewitt (201-1994, college: William & Mary) scored 26 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian-Haitian point guard Kenny Chery (180-1992, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Socar Petkim's coach Burak Goren used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Italian-American forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian-Jamaican guard Dylan Ennis (188-1991, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points. Four Socar Petkim and five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Socar Petkim moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Galatasaray. Galatasaray lost sixth consecutive game. Socar Petkim will meet at home higher ranked Dacka (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
