The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Maroussi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Maroussi defeated 9th ranked Megaridas in Athens 76-69. Maroussi made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists and Vasileios Stavrakoukas (191-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jackson Dubinski (185-1996, college: Columbia, MO, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with 9 points and 7 assists and Kostas Sotirakis (197-1997) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Megaridas' coach Giorgos Mandalos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maroussi have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Panerythraikos. Newly promoted Megaridas keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Megaridas will play next round against strong Iraklis trying to get back on the winning streak. Maroussi will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Aias Evosmou on the road.
