Regular Season Round 17: Sol Girones - Girona B 67-59

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in La Bisbal where 4th placed Girona B (10-5) was defeated by fifth ranked Sol Girones (10-6) 67-59 on Saturday. Jaume Sole (195-1991) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and swingman Isaac Valera (191-1992) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Adria Moncanut (183-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Kevin Torres (-2003) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sol Girones. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Girona B dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Daimiel and Eurogaza. Sol Girones will meet league's leader Vic on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Girona B will play against Quart-Germans C and hope to secure a win.
