Very important is a home loss of second ranked Jyvaskyla BA (12-5) against sixth ranked Kipina (10-7) on Friday night. Host Jyvaskyla BA was defeated by Kipina in a tough game in Jyvaskyla 90-99. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Jyvaskyla BA. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jyvaskyla BA won third quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kipina made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Kipina outrebounded Jyvaskyla BA 48-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. Jyvaskyla BA was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Chris Paul (199, college: St.Anselm) stepped up and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard ArMond Davis (196-1995, college: UCSB) chipped in 26 points and 11 rebounds. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Juuso Salmi (188-2004) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Eino Montin (185-2003) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Kipina moved-up to fourth place, which they share with HNMKY and ToPo Juniorit. Jyvaskyla BA at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Huima. Kipina will play against HBA-Marsky (#8) in Helsinki in the next round. Jyvaskyla BA will play at home against Pyrinto Ak.A (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
