Important game to mention about took place in Selfoss. Fifth ranked Selfoss (10-10) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Hrunamenn (7-12) 100-98 on Friday evening. Hrunamenn was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 40-24 third quarter run of Selfoss. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by Spanish forward Kennedy Clement (199-2002) who scored that evening 27 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Isak Perdue (186-2003) supported him with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Five Selfoss players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 39 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 7 assists by American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) did not help to save the game for Hrunamenn. American-Hungarian forward Sam Burt (201-1994, college: FPU) added 22 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Hrunamenn's coach Konrad Tota rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Selfoss maintains fifth position with 10-10 record. Hrunamenn lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. Selfoss will play against league's leader Alftanes in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hrunamenn will play at home against Armann (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
