Regular Season Round 19: E.Ashkelon - M.Ma'ale Adum. 94-79

There was no surprise when 7th ranked M.Ma'ale Adum. (11-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked E.Ashkelon (14-5) 94-79 on Saturday. It was a great evening for forward Sagiv David (198-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. The former international Raviv Pitshon (198-1989) helped adding 11 points and 10 rebounds. Five E.Ashkelon players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian center Eddie Ekiyor (206-1997, college: Carleton) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ido Shabat (182-1999) scored 15 points. M.Ma'ale Adum.'s coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. E.Ashkelon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after H.Afula lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser M.Ma'ale Adum. dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with I.Nahariya and M.Raanana. E.Ashkelon will meet bottom-ranked H.Hevel Modi'in (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. M.Ma'ale Adum. will play against E.Netanya (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
