There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Moron (7-12) won against on the road higher ranked Ponferrada (9-10) 80-76 on Saturday. They outrebounded Ponferrada 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American center Riley Hayes (203-1998, college: Catholic) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Bosnian Nedim Djedovic (205-1997, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Moron players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Omar Lo (206-1997, college: CBU) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Alejandro Jorda (193-1995, college: Cuesta JC) added 14 points respectively for Ponferrada in the defeat. Ponferrada's coach David Barrio tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Moron moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Huesca and Real Canoe. Ponferrada lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Moron will meet at home higher ranked Navarra (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ponferrada will play against La Roda and hope to secure a win.
