Second Stage Round 2: Nymburk - Brno 89-86

The biggest surprise of round 2 in NBL took place in Nymburk where host Nymburk edged Brno 89-86 on Saturday evening. Nymburk dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Brno's 32. The best player for the winners was American swingman Eric Lockett (196-1995, college: NC State) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Martin Kriz (200-1993) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Lockett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nymburk's coach Ladislav Sokolovsky used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Randy Culpepper (183-1989, college: UTEP, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 39 points (!!!) and the former international point guard Viktor Pulpan (191-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Brno will play next round against NH Ostrava trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nymburk will try to continue on its current victory against Decin on the road.
