Regular Season Round 19: E.Shomron - M.Haifa 94-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in , where 9th ranked M.Haifa (8-11) lost to twelfth ranked E.Shomron (7-12) in a road game 79-94 on Saturday. E.Shomron shot 30 for 43 from the free-throw line, while M.Haifa only scored seven points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when E.Shomron made 10 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Dachon Burke (193-1997, college: USA) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Keith Stone (206-1997, college: Miami, FL) helped adding 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four E.Shomron players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Admon Gilder (193-1995, college: Gonzaga) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Danel Kozahinof (177-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. E.Shomron moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with M.Rehovot. M.Haifa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. E.Shomron will meet higher ranked Ramat Hash. (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Haifa will play against Maccabi Rishon having rather not much hope for a victory.
