Regular Season Round 16: Tornado KM - SKM I 68-74

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Tornado KM (9-7) lost to third ranked SKM I (11-4) in Kaunas 68-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 16 points after three quarters before their 32-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by forward Nojus Kuliesa (185) who scored that evening 32 points and 5 assists and forward Ernestas Matulevic (200-2005) supported him with 14 points and 14 rebounds. SKM I's coach Ignas Pagalys used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by Armandas Bancevicius (-2006) did not help to save the game for Tornado KM. Point guard Edvinas Bublys (181-2005) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. SKM I moved-up to second place, which they share with VKM. Loser Tornado KM dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. SKM I's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilniaus VKM.
