Very important is a road loss of second ranked Eleftheroupoli (11-6) against seventh ranked Papagou (11-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Eleftheroupoli was defeated by Papagou in a tough game in Athens 89-97. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Eleftheroupoli. Papagou dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Eleftheroupoli's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Eleftheroupoli was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Tyler Peterson (193-1997, college: S.Dakota) scored 31 points and 6 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Panagiotis Kois (200-1998) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Papagou's coach Michalis Kouris allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-1987, college: Texas A&M) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 assists and his fellow American import Titus Robinson (201-1990, college: Buffalo) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Papagou moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Iraklis and Psychikou. Eleftheroupoli at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Papagou will play against FEA Filadelfeia (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eleftheroupoli will play against the league's second-placed Maroussi (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
