Regular Season Round 20: IDK Eustotren - Barca CBS 68-69

A very close game took place in San Sebastian between Barca CBS and IDK Eustotren. Seventh ranked Barca CBS (10-11) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked IDK Eustotren (9-12). Barca CBS managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 on Thursday evening. The winners were led by American guard Jolene Anderson (173-1986, college: Wisconsin) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Anna Cruz (173-1986) supported her with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Barca CBS's coach Isaac Fernandez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) by Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (192-1997, agency: Areus Sports) did not help to save the game for IDK Eustotren. American swingman Kaela Davis (188-1995, college: S.Carolina) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Four IDK Eustotren players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Barca CBS maintains seventh position with 10-11 record, which they share with Gernika. Loser IDK Eustotren dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Barca CBS will meet at home league's leader Valencia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. IDK Eustotren will play against Araski (#6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and hope to secure a win.
