Regular Season Round 11: Pereyaslav - Blyskavky 54-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Pereyaslav's (1-6) home loss to fourth ranked Blyskavky (6-6) 54-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Blyskavky. Pereyaslav managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Blyskavky forced 28 Pereyaslav turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for guard Victoria Ogiy (170-1995) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Forward Violetta Ostapchuk (170-2005) helped adding 25 points and 6 rebounds. Four Blyskavky players scored in double figures. Forward Anna Yarosh (180-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Tetyana Bashtova (183-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Pereyaslav's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Blyskavky maintains fourth place with 6-6 record. Pereyaslav lost their sixth game in a row. Pereyaslav at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Blyskavky will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pereyaslav will play against the league's leader Kyiv Basket (#1) and hope to win that game.
