There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Kretinga (12-21) defeated at home 11th ranked Vilkaviskis (13-20) 91-73 on Saturday. Kretinga made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Martynas Mazeika (193-1985, agency: Interperformances) who scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Arunas Rimkus (193-2004) chipped in 18 points. Rokas Stankevicius (202-1995, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Amandas Urkis (201-1999, college: Lewis & Clark) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kretinga maintains thirteenth position with 12-21 record. Loser Vilkaviskis dropped to the tenth place with 20 games lost. They share the position with Palanga and Rytas 2. Kretinga will meet higher ranked Palanga (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vilkaviskis will have a break next round.
