Sixth-ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (8-9) gave a tough game to second ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (14-3) on Sunday. The visitors from Tel Aviv managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The former international guard Bar Timor (190-1992, agency: Avi Zilberman) stepped up and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American swingman Jordan McRae (197-1991, college: Tennessee) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Danny Franco used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and French-Guinean Tidjan Keita (207-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv keeps a position of league leader, which they share with M.Tel-Aviv. Hapoel Beer Sheva at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bnei Hertzeliya. Hapoel Tel-Aviv is looking forward to face Hapoel Jerusalem (#4) at home in the next round. Hapoel Beer Sheva will play against Bnei Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
